The Year that was.........2006

On the brink of the end of the year that is 2006......... we reminisce the year that was.....

.......a little hard at times, a little joyful at others, many things new, many things older, something accomplished, something failed, a bit funny, a bit sad, a little cheeky, a little naughty, many hits and many misses..................

But most of all a little wiser.

What's the denim trend now?

Everybody seems to have a special feeling for jeans! That is probably because no pair of jeans are ever alike and they keep changing constantly according to your life style and fashion style.

Premium brand names like Notify, Acne, Superfine and j brand are the hottest labels in the market at the moment but when it comes to the trend who is the winner? is the style, the quality or the fact that some hollywood star is throwing it on like a walking advertisement, that decides?

Artificial Skin or Clothes?

Clothing as garment structures, surround the body to form a skin like structure, basically as protection from elements and societies’ laws on nudity and exposure. Though the basic understandings of clothing’s purposes are acknowledged, the deeper psychological and physical explorations within disciplines such as fashion prove otherwise.

Clothing are a very personal matter, it interacts and is one with the human body and mind. To say that they are extensions of the human body is without a doubt an understatement.

Maybe clothing symbolises the “missing components” the human body requires, desires or aspires towards. Are clothes then, just textiles or are they artificial skin, that are expressions of who we are?

Why bric-a-brac?

A duo that loves anything from lifestyle issues to beauty products, and based on our instincts and experiences, we created this blog for people to question fashion, lights, books, designers....like "what am I going to wear to my best friend's wedding.....this saturday??" or "what kind of lights is ideal for my studio?", to "Are garments metaphysical structures of the human mind?" or "Is fashion frivolous or an explorer of diverse issues?".
